We are currently seeking a Financial Crimes Operations Manager to join our team. This position is in-office and can be located in UT, AZ, NV or CA.
· Responsible to manage the Financial Crimes Operations teams consisting of CTR; AML Surveillance & Investigations; Fraud Case Management and Investigations; and Enhanced Due Diligence/CDD/KYC. These teams are predominantly in-office.
· Reports directly to the Director of Financial Crimes Risk Management/BSA Officer.
· Interacts with compliance oversight, Internal Audit and external regulators.
· Ability to influence change in teams managed and across the organization.
· Compiles and reports key monthly metrics for all aspects of the Financial Crimes Operations to be distributed to the first line of defense and up to the Board of Directors.
· Communicates with 1LOD leadership regarding internal control weaknesses identified in root cause analysis.
· Manage process and procedures to ensure compliance with BSA/AML regulations.
· Support various divisions of the Financial Crimes Risk Management team with enhancement projects.
· Test various aspects of the compliance monitoring systems to ensure proper functioning.
· Develop and conduct training for the investigation teams related to new and ongoing fraud and AML suspicious activity typologies.
· Lead quarterly team meetings. Agenda coordinated with Product & Strategy Manager for applicable case studies, emerging fraud/AML risks, regulatory changes, etc.
· Escalate identified risks to the Director of Financial Crimes Risk Management/BSA Officer.
· Identify department efficiencies while ensuring investigations are conducted to meet regulatory expectations.
· Work with other team leaders to identify team efficiencies whether technological or operational.
· Keeps current on regulatory expectations and requirements related to the Bank Secrecy Act and other related regulations.
· Cooperate with regulatory examiners and internal auditors in department evaluations.
· Establish and assess service level agreements (SLAs) based upon case load.
· Ensure established SLAs are met on all teams
· Responsible to hire, fire, employee performance and development.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Requires a bachelor's degree in Intelligence Studies, Accounting, Finance or related field and 6+ years of Bank Secrecy Act and/or AML compliance processes, fraud processes knowledge and experience, procedures and regulations or other directly related compliance experience. Financial crime fraud & AML investigation experience preferred. A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.
· Relevant Professional Certification: Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS), Associate of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) or Association of Certified Financial Crime Specialists (ACFCS) is a plus.
· Management/Leadership experience required.
· Advanced knowledge of BSA/AML Compliance as it applies to suspicious activity for money laundering, terrorist financing and fraud, AML and terrorist financing Red Flags for various suspicious transaction activities, regulatory changes as they pertain to the BSA and USA PATRIOT Act, BSA/AML processes and downstream/upstream impact.
· Strong understanding of complex financial transactions, business relationships and between business entities.
· Must have a high degree of analytical skills, customer service, communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Ability to manage deadlines, be organized, detail-oriented and complete responsibilities with a high degree of accuracy.
· Ability to meet performance expectations including management of Service Level Agreements.
· Advanced knowledge of the following: AML/BSA Regulatory compliance processes and procedures pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act. Fraud typologies.
· Strong understanding of bank operations as it relates to the flow of funds through financial institutions, high risk business entities and the inherently higher risk to the bank for high risk customers.
· Understand the classifications of High-Risk Entities as defined by the bank.
· Excellent problem resolution skills.
· Ability to be an independent thinker.
· Ability to handle confidential, delicate and/or sensitive information or situations
· Demonstrated computer skills including typing, Word, and Excel.
This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $95,250 to $139,700 annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience and location.
