The Loan Syndications Group is responsible for assisting in the origination, structuring and execution of syndicated deals in the US market, and is currently looking for an Analyst/Associate to support its operations. The Analyst/Associate will play a critical role in coordinating projects and supporting senior members of the team.

 

Key tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Actively support senior members of the Loan Syndications Group and bankers in commercial banking, commercial real estate or other specialty lending business units in the origination and execution of syndicated lending opportunities.
  • Preparing materials to assist in obtaining underwriting approvals including, but not limited to, an analysis of transaction structures and market liquidity and providing comparable deal sheets.
  • Work closely with senior members of the team to develop syndication strategies with targeted investor lists on Zions-led syndicated transactions.
  • Assisting in the preparation of transaction marketing materials including confidential information memoranda and lender presentations and maintaining templates for such materials.
  • Assist with the coordination of closing activities with third-party lenders, business units and internal functional areas.
  • Administer and maintain external data sites for third-party lenders and prepare associated communications as required on active deals where Zions is the agent bank
  • Research and track market trends, comparable transactions, and third-party lender activities and credit appetite when Zions is acting as Agent/Lead Arranger.
  • Analyzing market data, comparables and trends, in order to provide guidance on pricing and structures for a variety of new transaction scenarios
  • Support internal Relationship Managers on prospective syndicated loan deals and assist in reviewing new lead opportunities.
  • Maintain internal data bases and reports.
  • Stay current on market data, particularly in the Bank's areas of industry focus.
  • Maintains relationships with investors and keeps an internal database of all participating financial institutions.
  • Some travel required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting or a related field and some related experience/education.
  • Previous experience, including internships, in a similar role or capacity at a financial institution is a plus.
  • Demonstrated track record of high academic achievement.
  • MBA, CFA and/or Formal Credit Training with equivalent background a plus.
  • Candidate will be required to successfully complete FINRA regulatory examinations covering the Series 79 and Series 63
  • Must be highly detail oriented and focused with a strong analytical capability.
  • Ability to review extensive and complicated reports and distill key findings into executive summaries efficiently and accurately.
  • Ability to learn and apply complex concepts quickly.
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated track record of meeting deadlines and effective time management.
  • Possess strong writing skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to express ideas in a persuasive, organized, and articulate manner
  • Must be a highly collaborative individual who seeks working in a team-oriented environment
  • High proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, Bloomberg and other office software is essential
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and track details

Pay range (depending on experience): $67,143 - $101,567
