The Accounting Business Analyst position supports the Account Certification process, including but not limited to account assignments, reporting, providing support to account cert users and other special projects.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Reviews, analyzes, validates and evaluates reconciled accounts
  • Provide support to internal business departments to assist in the adherence of the Company’s account reconciliation certification policy
  • Understand the processes driving accounting activity in the general ledger
  • Perform in-depth review of reconciliations performed across the organization to identify and execute against opportunities for automation and/or centralization
  • Develop, document and train others on processes and procedures
  • Thinks at varying levels, from high concept to low detail and grasps business-centric design principles
  • Demonstrates creative "out of the box" thinking and champions ideas and sells them to others
  • Create communications/reports for key stakeholders on activity and progress
  • Contributes to the development of new principles and concepts Influence and impact the decisions of management
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or related field 
  • Some experience in accounting and/or finance in the Banking or Financial Services industry preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of general accounting including reconciliations, general ledgers, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to identify problems, research issues, and provide solutions
  • Experience with Oracle General Ledger and Frontier Account Reconciliation System is a plus
  • Experience in business process analysis, gathering and documenting requirements
  • Must be able to undertake self-directed learning to understand processes and systems and respond quickly, execute innovative solutions to problems and be proactive in solving issues
  • Requires strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with both management and staff employees exercising good judgement in choosing appropriate communication channels
  • Must be detail oriented and able to prioritize schedule based on deliverables, goals and timelines to meet commitments on time
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written (business & technical)
  • A combination of education and experience may meet job requirements

This position is eligible to work from home Mondays and Fridays to align with the flexible department schedule (subject to periodic review).
