We are seeking a Commercial/Corporate Banking Business Development Officer to join Zions Bank. The Business Development Officer plays a key role in identifying, acquiring, and growing profitable relationships with prospective commercial clients. This energetic and impactful role drives new business growth by developing targeted sales strategies, expanding referral networks, and leading the end-to-end sales process across an assigned geography. The position collaborates closely with Commercial and Corporate Relationship Managers, builds strong internal and external partnerships, and actively participates in community organizations to expand market presence. Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and execute strategies to attract and grow new commercial banking relationships 
  • Lead the sales process in partnership with Commercial and Corporate Relationship Managers 
  • Build and maintain strong internal relationships with bank leadership and partners 
  • Actively participate in community organizations to expand market presence and referral sources 
  • Conduct ongoing market analysis to identify opportunities and inform sales strategies 
  • Prepare and present proposals to high-value prospects 
  • Leverage sales enablement tools to drive efficiency and results 
  • Research, build, and maintain targeted prospect lists 
  • Travel as needed across assigned geography 
  • Plan and execute client-focused events that support business development goals and strengthen banking relationships 
  • Maintain diligent and timely documentation of sales wins, pipeline activity, and calling efforts to ensure accurate reporting and accountability 
  • Consistently record sales achievements, client interactions, and calling activity to support reliable data tracking and performance management 

Qualifications: 

  • 6+ years of Business Development experience, preferably within Commercial Banking 
  • Proven ability to develop and execute sales strategies in a commercial banking environment 
  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills 
  • Experience preparing and presenting proposals to high-value prospects 
  • Proficiency with sales enablement tools and CRM systems 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills 
  • Ability to conduct market analysis and identify business opportunities 
  • Willingness to travel as needed across assigned geography 
  • Commitment to accurate documentation and performance tracking 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or related field 

Compensation: 

This position is eligible to earn an annual base salary in the range of $120,000 - $190,000, plus bonus. Placement in that range depends on job-related factors such as level of experience and location.

This position is five days in the office at 8th & Main in Boise, ID
