Commercial/Business Banking Underwriting Manager - Midvale, UT (In-Office)

The ideal candidate for the Commercial/Business Banking Underwriting Manager position will be able to meet the following responsibilities and qualifications:
Responsibilities:
· Has overall responsibility for the divisions commercial/business banking underwriting functions.
· Oversees the commercial/business banking underwriting and evaluating of loan applications originated by the department.
· Manages the underwriting, approvals and/or rejections of loans.
· Oversees the underwriting quality of loans approved.
· Consults with the closing department to ensure all underwriting conditions are met prior to closing.
· Keeps informed of current practices in commercial/business banking loan underwriting and makes sure underwriters are kept abreast of these changes.
· Responsible to compliance issues within the underwriting division.
· Responsible for hires, transfers, terminations and performance evaluations.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting or a related field and 6+ years experience with commercial/business banking credit practices, processes and procedures, spread analysis, lending, underwriting concepts, lending regulations and compliance, or other directly related experience.
· Previous SBA lending experience preferred.
· Requires some management experience.
· A combination of education and experience may meet qualifications.
· Requires advanced knowledge of credit practices and procedures, spread analysis, lending and underwriting concepts.
· Ability to manage a staff.
· Advanced knowledge of credit scoring, credit analysis, financial statements, credit reports, debt ratios and loan to value information.
· Ability to resolve problems and make sound decisions.
· Must have strong customer relations and communication skills.
· Working knowledge of a various related software applications.
· Contributes to the development of new principles and concepts.
