Zions Bank Commercial Leasing group is now accepting applications for the position of Commercial Credit Underwriter located in downtown Salt Lake City. If you have a successful track record of working with commercial lending principles and underwriting loans, you might be the person we're seeking.


The ideal candidate for this position will have the skills and experience necessary to:


• Evaluate, analyze and form opinions for the approving and denying of commercial loan applications per bank policy and business unit standards.

• Conduct initial interview with the Lease Representative/RM.

• Follow up with borrower and Lease Representative/RM for required financial information.

• Formulate questions about the client and their financial performance and have discussions with the client to obtain sufficient understanding of borrower's financial position, managerial strategy, and expected financial performance.

• Complete a written analysis of the client including Industry, Management, Financial statement and Collateral analysis, that identifies key risks to repayment sources along with mitigants.

• Present the written analysis to senior management and credit approvers.

• Review of approved deals to ensure compliance with policies and adequate structure and terms.

• May be asked to complete other duties as needed.


What successful candidates need to bring to the table:


• Bachelors’ Degree and 2+ years’ experience in commercial credit underwriting in a middle market/corporate lending environment. Combination of education and experience may meet requirements.

• Extensive knowledge of lending policies and procedures, equipment evaluating, loan structuring, and financial analysis.

• Knowledge of job-related software such as Moodys CreditLens and Buker's Taxanalysis as well as other common office software (Word/Excel) and applications.

• Solid written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing and ability to communicate with external clients and internal employees.

• Excellent analytical abilities and decision-making skills.
