Amegy Bank is seeking an experienced, articulate and versatile Internal Communications Specialist to serve as the strategic voice of the bank to our employees. This is a high-visibility role that works directly with executives, business line leaders and teams across the enterprise to shape how Amegy communicates, connects and shows up internally. The ideal candidate brings strong financial services or banking experience, sound business acumen and the confidence to partner with senior leaders. You are a gifted writer and storyteller, a trusted advisor, a strong project manager and a creative problem solver. You are equally comfortable crafting executive messages, interviewing bankers in the field, managing live internal events and leading communications during sensitive or high-stakes moments. This role serves as the internal face of Amegy Bank, someone who understands the nuances of the industry and can translate complex information clearly.

 Responsibilities:

Internal Communications Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute bank-wide internal communication strategies that support Amegy’s business priorities, revenue goals and cultural objectives.

  • Ensure message clarity, consistency and credibility across the organization, with an understanding of banking operations, performance metrics and regulatory sensitivity.

  • Identify communication gaps and proactively recommend solutions grounded in best practices within financial services and corporate communications.

Executive & Enterprise Communications

  • Partner closely with executive leadership to draft speeches, presentations, talking points and internal messages.

  • Serve as a trusted communications advisor to senior leaders, demonstrating sound judgment, discretion and business understanding.

Content Creation & Storytelling

  • Create and edit high-quality internal content including executive emails, newsletters, intranet articles, employee announcements and leadership updates.

  • Translate banking, financial and industry topics into clear, engaging and actionable content for diverse employee audiences.

  • Conduct interviews with executives, business line managers, bankers and clients to uncover compelling stories that reinforce Amegy’s business strategy and company culture.

Intranet & Digital Channels

  • Serve as content owner and administrator for the company intranet, ensuring it is a dynamic, relevant, eye-catching and engaging platform for employees.

  • Proactively leverage digital channels to drive awareness, engagement and alignment across the enterprise.

Employee Engagement & Internal Events

  • Plan and execute initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, including town halls, recognition programs and leadership meetings.

  • Oversee logistics and communications for high-level internal meetings, including presentations, live streaming and recordings.

  • Travel as needed to branches and growth markets to support communications, collaboration and storytelling efforts.

Crisis & Change Communications

  • Support internal communications during business continuity events, organizational change or crisis situations.

  • Draft timely, clear and reassuring messages; update internal platforms; and coordinate messaging with external communications, PR and marketing teams.

  • Measurement & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish feedback mechanisms to assess communication effectiveness and employee sentiment.

  • Track and report on metrics, insights and opportunities to improve internal communications over time.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or a related field.

  • Around 4-5 years of experience in internal corporate communications, preferably within banking or financial services.

  • Proven experience working directly with executives and senior business leaders.

  • Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and stakeholders simultaneously.

  • Strong business acumen and comfort communicating complex, regulated or sensitive information.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with intranet platforms, like SharePoint, and content management systems.
