Zions Bancorporation is hiring an experienced Financial Analyst to join our Asset/Liability Management (ALM) team. This position will primarily be responsible for producing interest rate risk reporting for the Bank’s Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO) using Empyrean’s ALM software. Other responsibilities include performing model backtesting and sensitivity analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Produce monthly reporting for the Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO)
- Configure Empyrean to calculate earnings-at-risk (EaR), economic value of equity (EVE), and projected net interest margin
- Analyze and explain changes to the Bank’s interest rate risk position
- Perform Empyrean model backtesting and assumption sensitivity analysis
- Maintain Empyrean change control logs and model documentation
- Communicate the Bank's interest rate risk position to key stakeholders
- Identify and research data quality issues
- Other duties and analysis as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, statistics, mathematics, or similar
- Master’s degree preferred
- 4-8 + years of financial analysis experience, preferably in a banking context
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience using SQL and database software
- Experience using interest rate risk modeling software, such as Empyrean and QRM, preferred
- Understanding of bank financial statements
- Advanced problem-solving, time management, and written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to complete assigned work within strict deadlines
