Regional Security Officer - Midvale

The Regional Security Officer (RSO) protects the Bank’s people, property, and operations by leading regional physical security, investigations, and crisis response within the Enterprise Business Resilience framework.
The Regional Security Officer blends leadership, technical expertise, and on‑site engagement to advance a culture of safety, preparedness, and operational resiliency across branches, offices, and corporate facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Regional Security Leadership
- Serve as the primary security leader and advisor for all business units and facilities in the region.
- Translate corporate security policies into actionable regional plans.
- Partner with Business Continuity, Crisis Management, and Supplier Resilience teams.
- Provide situational awareness and guidance to regional executives during incidents.
Physical Security & Technology Management
- Oversee installation, maintenance, and performance of security systems (access control, alarms, video surveillance).
- Conduct facility security assessments and advise on mitigation strategies.
- Manage security system vendors and service contracts.
- Complete audits, access reviews, and incident documentation to ensure system integrity.
Threat Prevention, Investigations & Response
- Lead or support investigations involving theft, workplace violence, or criminal activity.
- Work closely with law enforcement and regulatory agencies.
- Provide accurate, professional court testimony when required.
Crisis Readiness & Incident Management
- Act as a first responder during emergencies such as robberies, natural disasters, or civil unrest.
- Support crisis management activation with real‑time intelligence and field coordination.
- Participate in post‑incident reviews and continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintain 24/7 availability for critical events impacting regional operations.
Training, Awareness & Culture
- Deliver employee training on robbery response, workplace violence, and situational awareness.
- Coach managers to identify and escalate potential security risks.
- Promote a strong culture of vigilance, accountability, and preparedness.
Governance, Policy & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to security regulations (Bank Protection Act, GLBA, etc.).
- Assist with development and refinement of corporate security policies and standards.
- Support enterprise reporting, audits, and resilience metrics.
- Align regional security practices with Enterprise Risk Management and Operational Risk frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Risk Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in corporate security, law enforcement, or military operations; financial services experience preferred.
- Experience in investigations, physical security systems, and crisis/emergency response.
- Knowledge of regulatory and industry standards (Bank Protection Act, GLBA, OSHA, ASIS, DHS, FFIEC, ISO).
- Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure during critical events.
- Certifications such as CPP or PSP strongly preferred.
