Our Enterprise Risk Management group is transforming what it means to manage risk at a financial institution. Within that enterprise group, the Regulatory Exam and Risk Governance team is currently seeking a professional, curious, and diligent Risk Governance Officer.
Governance both influences and informs how an organization’s objectives are set and achieved, and the Risk Governance Officer is an integral part of developing, maintaining, executing, and enforcing governance practices within the bank.
Risk Governance Officers may also play a pivotal role in supporting bank management putting their best foot forward during regulatory examinations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure governance group practices and governance documents meet bank standards and expectations through the following practices:
- Policy, framework, program, and charter: review, tracking, and feedback
- Adherence/non-adherence monitoring
- Committee and council assessments
- Quality control
- Training, communication, reporting
- Relationship building
- Policy, framework, program, and charter: review, tracking, and feedback
- Support, coordinate, and communicate regulatory examination activities, working with senior and executive leaders to ensure timely and complete responses to regulatory examinations, reviews, and inquiries.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, technical writing, English, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in one or more of the following: risk management (preferably governance), document management, or other directly related experience.
- Possess a working knowledge of bank/government regulatory requirements and processes.
- Ability to implement and enforce style guides consistently in written communications.
- Exceptional attention to detail as well as superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced time-management and self-governance skills to work independently and complete assignments on time.
- Strong client relationship skills to collaborate effectively and achieve shared objectives.
- Critical thinking, problem-solving and creative skills.
- Demonstrated proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to follow-through.
- Active listening skills and ability to take clear and concise meeting minutes.
- Ability to use judgment within departmental procedures and practices.
- Intermediate or better skills with standard Microsoft Office/365 tools.
Located in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City, the Zions Bank Building serves as the headquarters of both Zions Bancorporation and Zions Bank.
