Zions Bancorporation is currently looking for an experienced Scrum Master with prior work experience in project management to join our Enterprise Technology Operations team supporting the New Account Opening process in the Enterprise Digital Marketing initiative. The Scrum Master will be crucial in enabling continued Agile delivery, as well as coaching the team’s transition to a new Release Train.

The Scrum Master oversees how the whole process is played out from beginning to end. This person should be able to work with the team and develop and empower the individuals, helping them achieve their full potential as developers and as individuals. 


We are looking for someone who:

  • Serves as the team coach, continuously striving for relentless improvement and building trust. Responsible for facilitation and coaching of all team-level ceremonies, as well as discussions to promote efficiencies and lean thinking.

  • Partners closely with the product owner and product management for alignment of priorities and overall management of team backlog.

  • Ensures stakeholder and business engagement during backlog refinement and sprint reviews.

  • Provides stakeholder insight into the iteration plans and leverages data to improve delivery, advocating for transparency and discussion that promotes continuous improvement.

  • Exemplifies agile values and principles, championing the mindset and behaviors required to enable high performing teams.

  • Identifies gaps in team maturity with agile practices and provides relevant coaching or training needed to advance.

  • Effectively manages dependencies identified by team.

  • Manages impediments and partners as required to overcome them.

  • Tracks project performance, specifically analyzing successful completion of long- and short-term milestones/goals.

  • Manages agile budget and financials reconciliation and adjusts project constraints based on financial analysis.

  • Demonstrates adherence and strict compliance to defined policies and procedures to effectively manage risk.

  • Remains informed about corporate practices, industry trends and best practices concerning Agile.

  • Actively participates in communities of practice to support growth and development among colleagues.



  • 4+ years experience in Agile methods or frameworks, i.e. Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP) or Kanban, Agile scaling frameworks, preferably Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), project management processes, methodologies and tools, resource and change management practices and techniques, strategic planning or other directly related experience.

  • Working knowledge as a generalist or specialist of project management, Agile methods or frameworks, Agile scaling frameworks, scope management, financial tracking, scheduling and resource management.

  • Demonstrates strong facilitation skills and emotional intelligence.

  • Strong leadership, conflict resolution, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Active communication with various stakeholders and audiences.

  • Ability to identify, analyze and resolve issues.

  • Excellent negotiation and facilitation abilities.

  • Working knowledge in project budget & financials reconciliation. meeting deadlines, schedules and budgeted costs.

  • Advanced working knowledge of departmental specific processes, computer applications or other project related knowledge.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems or related degree.

  • PMI-ACP or Scrum Master certifications strongly preferred.


A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.


Ideally this position is in Salt Lake City, UT, but is open for remote within the continental United States.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000
