We are seeking a Senior Commercial Lender to join Zions Bank at our location in Sandy, UT. The Senior Commercial Lender plays a key role in generating and servicing a wide variety of commercial loans, including the most complex and sensitive credits. This position is responsible for developing strong, low-risk commercial relationships while maintaining exceptional customer service. As the principal account and relationship manager, you will drive new business through client leads, referrals, and cross-selling efforts, while ensuring compliance with all regulations. Your expertise in credit analysis, loan structuring, and portfolio management will directly impact the organization’s long-term goals and reputation. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage an underwriting team of Relationship Managers and Portfolio Managers overseeing $1B commercial loan portfolio. 
  • Help to grow Auto Dealer loan portfolios by $200M at affiliate banks within the Bancorp footprint over the next 1-3 years. 
  • Develop managerial skills to be promoted to Department Manager in 3-5 years. 
  • Generate and service a diverse portfolio of commercial loans, including large and complex credits 
  • Develop and maintain strong commercial relationships with new and existing clients 
  • Act as principal account and relationship manager, providing consultative direction and solutions 
  • Drive new business through client and prospect calls, referrals, and cross-selling bank products 
  • Conduct credit analysis, loan structuring, client interviewing, and character judgment 

 

Qualifications: 

  • 8+ years’ experience with commercial or credit-associated lending, credit, or underwriting, or 11+ years of other directly related experience 
  • Expert knowledge of commercial loans, credit analysis, lending, loan processing, and closing processes 
  • Proven ability to expand commercial loans, client relationships, and cross-sell bank products 
  • Solid sales ability and experience in applicant interviewing and perceptive character judgment 
  • Strong skills in loan structuring and monitoring credit performance 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Working knowledge of software applications, including word processing and spreadsheets 
  • Experience managing a large commercial portfolio 
  • Bachelor’s degree required; a combination of education and experience may meet requirements
