Senior Data Architect
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Strong understanding of how data should be defined and organized so that it can be efficiently processed and visualized
- Minimum 6 years’ experience working in a corporate environment focusing on data initiatives/projects
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working with relational database technologies
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with data models and designing entity relationship diagrams (ERD)
- Experience working with Data Warehouses, Operational Data Stores and/or Data Marts
- Understanding of both real-time and batch processing paradigms
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to take responsibility of projects & tasks and drive them to completion
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience within the financial industry with a strong understanding of financial data
- Experience with Master Data Management concepts and systems (e.g. IBM’s Customer MDM solution)
- Experience with Financial Industry Standard Data Models (e.g. Teradata Financial Services Data Model, IBM Banking and Financial Markets Data Warehouse, etc.)
- Experience with a broad range of database technologies:
- Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) databases (e.g. Teradata, Greenplum)
- Relational technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Postgres)
- NoSQL databases (e.g. Key-Value, Document, Graph, Multimodel)
- Cloud DB’s (e.g. Azure Synapse, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, etc.)
- Expert knowledge in SQL
- Understand and promote Agile development principles
- Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience implementing data security using database and non-database technologies
- Experience with BI solutions (e.g. Business Objects, QlikView, Power BI)
- Experience working in a Big Data/Hadoop environment (e.g. Cloudera)
- Experience with web services and service bus architectures
- Experience modeling data using different methods (e.g. Third Normal Form, Dimensional/Star Schema, Vault)
- Experience using data modeling tools (e.g. ER/Studio, Erwin)
- Ability to conceptualize (and work with) metadata well enough to design and support in-house metadata management solutions
- Ability to mentor, strengthen and critique others in a positive and thoughtful manner
